Famed Model And Restaurateur B. Smith Found Safe In Manhattan Diner, Frantic Husband Dan Gasby Says It’s Best Gift For Thanksgiving

B. Smith found- For Dan Gasby, this year's Thanksgiving is the happiest after her wife, a celebrated model and restaurateur, B. Smith has been found safe on Wednesday after she was reported missing.

The 65-year-old B. Smith, who has been battling with Alzheimer's disease, left New York City on Tuesday while boarding on Hampton Jitney at 4:30 p.m. to head to the Hamptons. However, she didn't arrive at Sag Harbor to meet her husband.

B. Smith husband, Dan Gasby, a producer became hysterical after her wife didn't appear in their meeting place. After 18 hours of search, the former model and well known restaurateur B. Smith was found alive and safe with only blisters seen on her feet after a night of walking around the city.

B. Smith worried husband Dan Gasby, spent long hours of search and had constant contact with the New York City police to locate her wife. After a day, Dan Gasby received a call from her daughter telling B. Smith was found at the La Parisienne Coffee House on 7th Ave. near 57th St, Manhattan, NY Daily News reported.

Earlier in June, B. Smith admitted in her CBS News interview that she is battling Alzheimer's. When she was asked if she knows what year and month it was during the interview, she couldn't answer and said, "No." The well known former model however has been positive about her prognosis.

When B. Smith was found in the Manhattan diner, the owner of the La Parisienne Coffee House in NYC distinguished B. Smith at once and reported to Sag Harbor police that the former model was at her restaurant.

The waiter, who served B. Smith told police authorities that B. Smith was with another unidentified woman. Apparently, the two women, were regular customers in the diner, they just ordered their food, ate and left normally, the waiter added.

Before B. Smith was found, her husband of 22 years, Dan Gasby told police officials that when B. Smith didn't arrive at their meeting place, he and his daughter traced the driver of the Hampton jitney to ask any information about B. Smith.

The driver of the jitney reported that B. Smith appeared to be confused and just left the jitney around 8 p.m. in Southampton. Immediately, the frantic husband of B. Smith reported to the police that her wife was missing.

B. Smith was found safe with no major injuries. Her husband Dan Gasby and their daughter were just so thankful for the people who helped them locate B. Smith.

B. Smith, whose full name is Barbara Smith was a former model, and one of the first African-American models to be included in the cover of Mademoiselle in the year 1976. She was also a recognized actress, talk show host and author.

B. Smith is a celebrated restaurateur who has opened three B. Smith restaurants since 1986 in Washington and New York. She has also involved herself in businesses such as home entertaining houses, home style collection and has authored number of cookbooks.

For Dan Gasby, he didn't know what life would be if her wife B. Smith was not found. He claimed this is also the first time that her wife had been lost.
