The latest news regarding Seth Rogen and James Franco's "The Interview," their latest action comedy, has the two actors playing a news producer and a star journalist who are instructed to kill North Korean leader Kim Jong-un after they've landed an interview with the Asian Supreme Leader.
According to The Huffington Post, Seth Rogen and James Franco's "The Interview" has gotten much more media attention that anyone would have previously thought they would, following a serious scandal with the North Korean government, one of the most heavy police states in the world since the 1940s.
Although the movie hasn't even been released yet, Seth Rogen and James Franco's "The Interview" has caused a world of controversy from different terrorist organizations, as they've made death threats against the two actors, as well as to whatever theaters play the film upon its release.
While the North Korean government has stated that they have nothing to do with the hackers' terrorist threats, all eyes point to Kim Jong-un as the movie approaches its date of release on Christmas day. Ironically enough, the film wouldn't have made such a big impact if it hadn't been for the controversy surrounding the reaction of North Korean officials and associated hackers.
According to The Washington Post, many believe that the Sony Pictures leak that showed employees' e-mails to the world (including different scandals regarding figures like Jennifer Lawrence, Aaron Sorkin and even Alex Trebek) was a reaction to the film's coming release.
In any case, according to Time Magazine, the publicity tour set for Seth Rogen and James Franco's "The Interview" has been canceled, following different threats made to the actors. They've officially canceled appearances at "The Tonight Show," "Late Night" and a set of interviews from different outlets, including Buzzfeed.
