Carrie Fisher Star Wars: Mark Hamill States He Wouldn’t Go Back To Star Wars Without Her And Harrison Ford

The world's eyes are all turned on the stars that made the first movies of a galaxy far, far away a science fiction classic in the 70s and 80s; now, it's been made clear that Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher's "Star Wars" appearance was absolutely vital for Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker himself.

Decades before the trio of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, the movie universe had the Skywalker twins (Luke and Leia) and Han Solo! Of course, the new sequel, set 30 years after "The Return of the Jedi," had to feature the likes of Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher in "Star Wars."

According to the United Kingdom's The Guardian, while it is still not certain what will be the plot of the upcoming film "Episode VII - The Force Awakens," Carrie Fisher's "Star Wars" appearance is far from over - though Hamill has suggested that the roles of the old trio will be more spiritual than anything else.

Hamill has made a career for himself as a voice actor over the years, in roles such as his recurrent character in the "Batman" universe, where he's been playing villain The Joker. However, he has been mostly away from the front of the cameras, unlike Harrison Ford and to a lesser extent Carrie Fisher, who's turned mostly to writing, though still acts occasionally.

"This is about the new generation of characters, I think that's the most important thing," said Hamill to Yahoo News, regarding Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher's "Star Wars" appearances. "It's the opening act of a whole new approach to the storytelling. So I never thought that the stories would be - first of all, I never thought I'd be involved in it again, period. And then, when George [Lucas] said that they wanted to do more, I rightly assumed that it wouldn't be our story, because we had a beginning, a middle and an end."

According to IMDb, principal photography for the new film has already finished, and they're currently on the post-production phase - but, in any case, it's a sure thing that in less than a year from now, longtime fans of the stories from a galaxy far, far away will get to see Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher in "Star Wars," mentoring a new generation of fighters and Jedis.
