Kristen Wiig Movies: After ‘Ghostbusters,’ Joins Cast Of ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ [VIDEO]

Following the official announcement that she'll be leading the cast of the upcoming all-female "Ghostbusters" film, Kristen Wiig's movies get another boost, as she joins the cast of "Wet Hot American Summer" alongside "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm, in a Netflix prequel to the 2001 cult film.

A Saturday Night Live alum, in the last few years it has been Kristen Wiig's movies that have put the star on the map, following the huge success of the 2011 movie "Bridesmaids," which she starred and co-wrote; now, she goes back to television in the upcoming and star-filled Netflix sequel to "Wet Hot American Summer."

According to The New York Daily News, the latest addition to Kristen Wiig's movies comes in the form of one of the most hip producing companies at the moment, the on-demand Internet streaming service turned film-producing studio that has made critically acclaimed shows like "House of Cards" and "Orange is the New Black."

As Deadline first reported before the official announcement, the latest of Kristen Wiig's movies has her joining the star-filled cast of the prequel, which will also feature some favorites from the original film, including Amy Poehler, Elizabeth Banks, Bradley Cooper, Molly Shannon, Janeane Garofalo and David Hyde Pierce, among others of the huge cast that includes more than twenty people.

The new 8-episode prequel will be called "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp" and, as Uproxx reports, its latest additions aren't only Wiig and Hamm, but also Jason Schwartzman and even "Star Trek" star Chris Pine, all of whom will be featured heavily in guest-starring/recurring roles - it seems like just about anyone who is anyone in Hollywood will be dropping by to say hello on this set!

As Food World News reported, another upcoming feature in Kristen Wiig's movies list is "Ghostbusters," a reboot to the classic 80s movies that will feature an all-female cast including Wiig's co-star from "Bridesmaids" Melissa McCarthy.
