Oscars 2015: Will It Be a Tough Battle Between Boyhood and Birdman?

As the campaigns come to an end and the red carpet rolls out to welcome the shiniest stars of Hollywood, Oscars 2015 seems to be promising a tough battle between Boyhood and Birdman as the two movies vie for the Best Picture award.

This year's 87th Academy Awards that will take place at Dolby Theatre and will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris is expected to have a hint of magic. According to BBC News, Oscars 2015 will be flocked not only by the hottest movie personalities but also by the most in demand performers, including Rita Ora, Anna Kendrick, Jennifer Hudson and Lady Gaga.

For many months, the biggest question is which between Birdman and Boyhood will be bringing the highly coveted Best Picture Award. While it is true that the comedy flick of Michael Keaton has snagged the top prize from Screen Actors Guild, Directors Guild of America and Producers Guild of America, not to mention that there was only one time when a movie was able to win all the guild awards and not given the Best Picture, there is also no denying that Boyhood has become an Oscar favorite for the past few months.

According to Hollywood Take, the stats are more in favor of Boyhood. Birdman is not included in the nominees for Best Editing, and it was way back in 1981 when Ordinary People was able to win the Best Picture Academy Award even with no nomination for the Best Editing category. Boyhood's position is made much stronger with its Best Picture award during the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards as well as Golden Globes' Best Drama.

As of now, the fans and followers of these great movies can only hold their breath and anticipate for the final announcement of the winner of Oscars 2015 Best Picture.
