According to The Guardian, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) made a statement last Tuesday talking about the latest Curiosity rover news, speaking about how the electrical issue was discovered last weekend, after Curiosity attempted to transfer powder from a rock.
Sky News reports that they then discovered that the Curiosity rover news included a short circuit that had been serious enough to cause one of the robot's arms to stop responding.
After this discovery, NASA scientists stopped the rover from its regular work (which it has been up to since landing in 2012) and is now running tests on Curiosity, all of which are expected to take several days, keeping it from driving across the red planet.
