Cocaine Aldi Bananas: German Supermarket Chain Faces Controversy After Finding MILLIONS Worth Of Cocaine Aldi Bananas

Along with Lidl, the German discount supermarket chain has quickly turned into one of Europe's biggest and most important companies in the industry, but the latest cocaine Aldi bananas scandal could put everything in jeopardy for the Essen-based chain.

In the past, Food World News has reported on the British supermarket industry's problems with both Aldi and Lidl, companies that have seemingly cornered other local supermarkets that can't compete with the incredibly low prices, but the new cocaine Aldi bananas will surely take a huge toll on the chain as it the company's now in the middle of a vast drug-related scandal.

The shocking new cocaine Aldi bananas scandal seems like something straight out of the popular AMC show "Breaking Bad," as it involves a German food-related company somehow involved in a massive drug situation.

According to Sydney Morning Herald, the cocaine Aldi bananas appeared on different boxes of bananas in the supermarkets that came from Colombia, widely known as one of the most important headquarters of this drug in the entire world.

While authorities think the cocaine Aldi bananas appeared on the supermarkets by accident, The Independent reports that this actually marks the second time in 18 months that this situation happens for the major German chain, after 140kg of cocaine were found between five Berlin stores in January 2014, the second-largest drug recovery in the famous city on the past 35 years.

The largest drug recovery in that period in the city, however, is the one that occurred this week; according to ABC.net.au, authorities found 386kg (worth about $21 million) of cocaine in banana boxes in 14 Aldi supermarkets in the German capital.

The cocaine was stashed between banana boxes and was apparently sent to Aldi stores by mistake; it was workers from all 14 stores that first reported the findings.

"Apparently there was a logistical mistake somewhere along the line," said local police spokesman Stefan Redlic about the cocaine Aldi bananas scandal according to Yahoo! News.
