Rachael Ray Promotes New Book "The Book of Burger" With a Food Truck

Rachael Ray's new book, The Book of Burger, came out today. The celebrity chef / talkshow host / television personality has been promoting her latest acheivement by riding around in what Eater calls "a pop-up food truck." Seemingly, Ray has combined two popular trends -- the pop-up restaurant and the food truck -- demonstrating why she's a popular touchstone in the industry.

Prior to hitting the New York City streets, the mobile burger station began at a Princeton, New Jersey Barnes & Noble store, where the first 500 people in line to purchase the book got a complementary slider made from one of the recipes in its pages.

The book contains Ray's special "burger blend," the blend of meat and spices she uses to create the perfect burger. Her "legedary pickle recipe" is included, too, along with other tips and tricks from well-known names in the food world, like Bobby Flay and Masaharu Morimoto.

Some of Ray’s favorite recipes are her Drunken Burgers with Stilton, Shrimp Burgers, and California Turkey Club Burgers. The book also features Ray's personal cooking stories and recipes for foods that go along with burgers like side dishes, sauces, and hot dogs.

To date, Ray has published approximately 20 books, and nine of them have been #1 New York Times bestsellers. She has further made her mark in media by being the Editorial Director of her lifestyle magazine, Every Day with Rachael Ray. She also is the founder of the Yum-o!, a non-profit organization that began in 2006 which "empowers kids and their families to develop healthy relationships with food and cooking by teaching families to cook, feeding hungry kids and funding cooking education and scholarships," according to the website.
