PATRICK DEMPSEY, Divorced By Wife, Written Out in Grey’s Anatomy, Sold Malibu Mansion After Illicit Affair

Patrick Dempsey was written out from his role as the beloved Derek Shepherd (aka McDreamy) apparently following an illicit affair he had with a young Grey's Anatomy staff trainee.  And this was also the reason that the wife of Patrick Dempsey divorced him. This week, he sold his $14.5 million Malibu mansion.

Patrick Dempsey bought the pricey elegant California home dubbed as "Tin House" with his ex-wife Jillian Fink in 2009.  However after their divorce, and posting the property for sale, Patrick Dempsey immediately sold the luxurious pad in just two weeks, the International Business Times reported.

Just last month, Patrick Dempsey made headlines when he departed from his long time gig, Grey's Anatomy. Although the reason for the infamous role bring written out was not clear, several reports claimed that it was Patrick Dempsey affair with a young staffer that ruined everything.

According to Radar Online, the young staffer was sleeping with McDreamy and while on the set, Patrick Dempsey used to stay on his trailer and stayed there with the girl for indefinite time. Patrick Dempsey was apparently given suspension and was allowed to return until he was fired after the dramas had been done.

According to Hollywood Take report, Ellen Pompeo, the screen-wife of Patrick Dempsey in Grey's had pushed Shonda Rhimes to fire McDreamy. Pompeo is close to Patrick Dempsey ex-wife and she was reportedly furious about McDreamy having an affair with the young staffer.

Patrick Dempsey relationship with the staffer began in August and it was only last month that the creator of Grey's Anatomy Shonda Rhimes decided to fire the actor from the casts.  Everyone was shocked after Patrick Dempsey divorced from his 15-year wife, Jillian Fink back in January.

Patrick Dempsey married Jillian Fink in 1999. The two shares three children, a daughter Talula and twin sons Sullivan and Darby.
