Shaun White Arrested, Explains Weekend of ‘Celebrating’ and Getting 'Carried Away’

Shaun White was arrested at a Nashville hotel for being drunk and vandalism. White had allegedly pulled a fire alarm causing an evacuation of the hotel and was seen by a hotel staff to have destroyed a hotel phone.

Officers responded to a call from Loews Vanderbilt Hotel at 2AM on Sunday.

After triggering the alarm, White left the hotel to hail a cab. According to Fox News, another hotel guest followed White out of the hotel and consequently White "attempted to attack the man and fell and hit his head."

The 26 year-old, two-time gold medalist snowboarder was charged by the police for intoxication and vandalism.

White was later treated at Baptist Hospital and released on Monday. He was then brought to the police, where he refused to sign misdemeanor citations. He was released that afternoon, with a court date for October 10th.

"I want to apologize for the unwise choices I made over the weekend and for any inconvenience it caused my family, friends, business partners, the hotel and their guests," said White on Facebook. "I was celebrating a happy occasion with a ton of family and friends and got carried away. I'm truly sorry for my poor behavior."
