'Innocence of Muslims' trailer and movie makers are now facing death threats and fatwa's from Islamic groups, including Lebanon's militant group Hezbollah.
Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah Secretary General, issued a fatwa - a religious judicial ruling based on conservative Islamic law - calling on young Muslims in Western countries to carry out the death sentence of Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, the film's creator, as well as its actors.
"America must understand ... the US must understand that releasing the entire film will have dangerous, very dangerous, repercussions around the world," he told the rally.
Nakoula has reportedly gone into hiding and has not been seen since Saturday. One of the actresses named Cindy Lee Garcia told New York Daily News, "We're looking for a new place to live right now. My husband is really worried. All my family is in hysterics."
The anti-Islam film trailer sparked outrage, despite possibly being a fraud. Numerous sources question the credibility of the producer, identified as Nakoula Basseley Nakoula also known as Sam Bacile, about his identity and his production.
Dubbed in Arabic and posted on YouTube, the thirteen and a half minute trailer of the film depicts Muhammad as a false prophet, a womanizer, and a madman.
Garcia also said "The actors were deceived. My voice was dubbed, and it wasn't even my voice. I had no idea he did that until the trailer came out."
Previous reports on the trailer indicate questions regarding whether a full film exists. Serious concerns remain if a full film is released and what the implications would be around the world.
Questions surround whether Nakoula's identity and production are as he claims.
Nakoula claims to be an Israeli Jew, but Israeli authorities told Associated Press that there are no records of him being an Israeli citizen.
According to The Atlantic Wire, no one has been able to obtain the film in its full length. The producer of the film claims that $5 million was raised from 100 anonymous Jewish donors, using 60 actors and 45 crew members. "Just look at the horrid way the desert backdrop is green-screened into the background. This is a film with a $5 million budget?"
The Hollywood Reporter says "Bacile has virtually no footprint in the Hollywood community. The writer-director-producer has no agent listed on IMDBPro and no credits on any film or TV production."
