Bethesda kicked of the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo with a huge slew of announcements and reveals. The company, making its first ever keynote presentation at E3, didn't hold back showing off its biggest and best known franchises as well as introducing a couple of exciting new ones.

The show kicked off with an extensive look at the revival of 90's shooter classic 'Doom' from id Software. The gameplay demo featured the franchise's signature mix of fast paced shooter gameplay and gore filled, blood soaked demon slaying action.

Set in a futuristic space station of some sort, we see the player character mow down hordes of demons using the series signature weapons like the super shotgun and chainsaw, as well as some brutal melee finishers.

Also notable were the multiplayer details. The reimagined Doom will retain its predecessors signature arena based, power up centric format. The game will also ship with a creation tool called 'SnapMap' which will allow players to create and share their own custom game scenarios.

The second of Bethesda's big announcements was actually spoiled prior to the show. An inadvertent video stream of the presentation's rehearsal sessions outed the existence of Dishonored 2, the sequel to the well-received stealth action game from 2012. Nevertheless, show attendees seemed delighted at the reveal trailer, which features Emily Kaldwin, a character from the first game carrying out an assassination with her supernatural powers. The game's creators also mentioned that Corvo Attano, the protagonist of the original Dishonored, will return as a playable character with players able to choose between either him or Emily. No release date was announced but a remastered version of the first game is slated for a release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.

The main event of the show was of course, the long awaited Fallout 4 gameplay demo. After the reveal on twitter a few weeks ago, anticipation was at a fever pitch and the payoff was certainly worth it. Game director Todd Howard took the stage to thunderous applause and proceeded to wow the audience with Fallout 4's huge list of features. He showed off the starting sequence and character creation as well the game's new crafting system, which lets players fashion weapons, armor, and even structures from found objects in the game's world. The game is set for release on November 10, 2015.
