Ramen Noodle Baths the Latest Trend in Japanese Skincare

Ramen has already conquered the dining tables of restaurants around the world. But now it seems everyone’s favourite bowl of noodles is looking to make a splash in the health and beauty market.

New York Magazine’s food blog Grub Street, shed some light on the Yunessan Spa House located in the small town of Hakone in the south east of Japan. The place to go for Ramen exfoliation. The noodles customers swim around in are (thankfully) synthetic. However owner Ichiro Furuya says the broth is 100% pork based broth. If you ever dreamt of swimming around in piping hot Tonkotsu broth, Yunessan Spa seems like the place for you.

Ichiro Furuya, the owner of the spa, claims, “Lately people are very concerned about having beautiful skin, and they know the effect of collagen, which is contained in our pork-based broth. At this bath, everybody can have fun and take advantage of the healthy elements of ramen noodles.”

This certainly isn’t the first weird food item to come out of Japan. Just last week the country’s local Burger King announced it was debuting an all red cheeseburger soon.
