'Guardians Of The Galaxy 2' Finally Has An Official Title

Nobody may have noticed, but the website Collider is really good at getting information from the people that they interview.

Collider recently posted about a press junket for 'Ant-man' where Marvel Studios president happily chatted about the upcoming film as well as other future movies.

At one point, Feige talked about the shooting schedule for the upcoming sequel to 'Guardians of the Galaxy.' "We start shooting 'Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2' in February, March 2016," he had said.

At this point, the official title for the sequel to Marvel's 2014 hit has not yet been announced. However, following Collider's post, director James Gunn decided to address the revelation in his Twitter account.

"Yes, the official title for the @Guardians sequel is GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2. Nice detective work, @colliderfrosty, etc! You got us!" the director tweeted.

The new title is a direct pun at Peter Quill's beloved mixtapes, which are titled, 'Awesome Mix Vol. 1' and 'Awesome Mix Vol. 2.'

James Gunn recently revealed that the then-unnamed sequel would focus more about the character's stories rather than possibly trying to defend the galaxy from Thanos (Josh Brolin).

"I think it's a more emotional movie," he said. "It's both a bigger movie and a smaller movie because we focus more intensely on some of the characters."

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' will mark the return of 'Jurassic World' star Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, as well as his fellow Guardians Zoe Saldana (Gamora) and David Bautista (Drax the Destroyer).

Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel are also expected to provide the voices of Rocket and Groot, respectively.

Fans of the film are also waiting for confirmation whether Karen Gillam, who played Gamora's adoptive sister Nebula, will return in the sequel.

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' is scheduled for release on May 5, 2017.
