Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner Divorce: Fans Mourn 'Bennifer' On Twitter

After ten years of marriage, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have finally decided to call it quits.

In a joint statement, the power couple has announced that they are getting a divorce.

"We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children," Affleck and Garner said in their statement. "This will be our only comment on this private, family matter."

The news arrives only a few weeks after reports of Affleck looking tense while out with his family and the couple trying to save their marriage.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have three children together, Violet, Seraphina and Samuel. According to an anonymous source, the couple will still live in the same property, although Affleck will stay in a separate house. The couple intends to co-parent their children despite their separation.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner first met on the set of the 2003 Marvel film 'Daredevil,' where Affleck played the title role and Garner portrayed his love interest Elektra. Two years later, they wed in a private ceremony.

Although the couple appears calm about their separation, fans have mourned the dissolution of 'Bennifer Part 2' on Twitter.

Those who were rooting for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner to live happily ever after just decided it was the end of the world.

Meanwhile, some blamed Affleck's movie 'Gone Girl.'

Someone also reminded the world that this isn't the first Bennifer breakup.

Ben Affleck was previously engaged to singer/actress Jennifer Lopez. The two met on the set of the infamous movie 'Gigli.'

Jennifer Garner is best known for playing Sydney Bristow in the hit TV series 'Alias.' Her most recent work was on the Academy Award winning film 'Dallas Buyers Club.'

Affleck will play Bruce Wayne a.k.a Batman in the upcoming DC superhero film 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,' which will be released on March 25, 2016.
