Johnny Depp Puts Entire French Village Up For Sale For A Huge Price

Johnny Depp owns an entire French village. The Mortdecai star, 52, recently put his Plan de la Tour estate up for sale for close to $26 million. The estate is comprised of a 37-acreproperty that includes a "complete Provencal village of stone-built houses dating back more than 200 years."

The estate features more than a dozen buildings including a main house, guest cottages, a chapel, a bar, a restaurant, and a workshop and garage. It is 10,760 square feet and boasts 12 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. Some of Depp's personal belongings will be included in the sale of the property.

Since buying the property in 2001, he has restored and decorated the homes one by one, spending more than $10 million on improvements. He converted a church to a guesthouse and installed a wine-tasting cave that looks like a set from "Pirates of the Carribean." The more than one dozen structures include a main house, several guest cottages, a chapel, a bar and restaurant, a workshop/garage and a staff house. The 10,760 square feet of Bohemian-style living space contains more than 12 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. Other living spaces include a hunter's cabin, a painter's studio where Depp worked, a children's playroom and a gym.

Depp, 52, has starred in more than 50 major motion pictures, including "Edward Scissorhands," "Benny and Joon" and "Donnie Brasco." He gained recognition among television viewers in the 1980s series "21 Jump Street." The versatile actor will star in the upcoming films "Black Mass," "London Fields" and "Yoga Hosers."

According to the Wall Street Journal, Depp has put the estate on the market for a "low, low asking price." He is now married to 28-year-old actress Amber Heard, whom he married earlier this year on his own island in the Bahamas. Still not impressed? The area is surrounded by olive trees, gardens, vineyards, large and small swimming pools and a skateboard park. Fans of the star might want to join together to purchase the property as it is somewhat a museum attributed to Depp.
