Queen Elizabeth II Will Street Party with 10,000 Guests on Her 90th Birthday

It's going to be mega huge. 10,000 guests will be invited to the street party along The Mall, reports International Business Times.  The road outside Buckingham Palace will be lined with tables and chairs decked with the royal colors and insignia.  Aside from this main party, the Green Park and Regents Park will also be venues of parties open to the public.

The Queen's grandson, Peter Phillips, is organizing the street party in London for his grandmother's birthday next year. He encourages everyone across the United Kingdom to hold similar street parties.  Phillips is the director of a global events agency.

Members of the 600 charities and organizations supported by the Queen will have a chance to be invited to the main celebration by ballot system.  The Queen is the longest-reigning monarch, celebrating her 64th year of public service September next year.

The big birthday lunch at The Mall will also raise money for the Patron's Charity, which supports various charities of the Queen.`

The official birthday of Queen Elizabeth II is on April 21, but her birthday next year will be celebrated on June 12, 2016, Sunday.  This has always been the practice of the monarchs, scheduling celebrations in the summer when weather is better for parties.  Next year's special event will also feature its usual mainstays of a church service at St Paul's Cathedral and the Trooping the Colour Parade.  The Parade is a tradition that dates back to the 1700's.

On her 80th birthday in 2006, the Queen walked around the streets outside Windsor Castle, and met with the public who were out to greet her.

The Royal Family recently came together for the christening of the newest addition, Princess Charlotte, baby sister of Prince George.  She is the daughter of Prince William and Duchess Kate.  The little bundle of joy is fourth in line to the throne.
