The cast of 'Game of Thrones' seem to fully embody their characters whether they are filming for the show or not, to the point that fans find it hard to distinguish the actor from the role. Kit Harington has already appeared in a few movies but is still fondly referred to as 'Jon Snow.'
Anyone who has ever wondered how the actors got their roles got the answer at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).
During the 'Game of Thrones' panel in Hall H, HBO presented an audition reel featuring Nathalie Emmanuel (Misandei), Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth) and Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth).
Although they only had a few lines, Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane), Carice van Houten (Melisandre), Ben Crompton (Eddison Tollett), Michiel Huisman (Daario Naharis) and Tom Wlaschiha (Jaqen H'ghar) gave amazing performances that helped them get the part.
The reel also featured actors Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell) and Rose Leslie (Yggrite), whose characters have already been killed off the show.
The 'Game of Thrones' panel managed to address a few inquiries, but firmly kept mum about Season 6 and any news about Jon Snow's return. Unfortunately, the people who could best answer the questions about the sixth season and Jon Snow's fate were not in attendance.
Executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss did not attend Comic-Con, and Kit Harington was nowhere in sight. Even 'A Song of Ice and Fire' author George R.R. Martin was absent from the panel.
Fans continue to hope that Jon Snow will live on season 6 of 'Game of Thrones,' despite director David Nutter's direct statement to POTUS Barack Obama. The President then said, "You keep killing off my favorite characters."
It was also confirmed at Comic-Con that Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) did not survive Brienne of Tarth's sword.
'Game of Thrones' Season 6 is scheduled to air on HBO in 2016.
