Oklahoma wins its first Miss USA

It is the very first time for Oklahoma to win in the Miss USA.  Their candidate, Olivia Jordon, took home the crown, besting 50 other contestants from across the USA.  This year's pageant was held at Baton Rouge, Louisiana, reports ABC News.

Miss Oklahoma, Olivia Jordan, 26 years old, is a graduate of BS in Health Science from Boston University.  She is a group fitness instructor and also a personal trainer.  Her beautiful face and fit body has appeared in various commercials and feature films.

As this year's Miss USA, she will represent the country in the Miss Universe  to be held early next year.   She has also previously represented the USA in the Miss World in 2013, where Miss Philippines Megan Young won the title.

Stunning in a hot pink strapless number, Jordan scored high points in the question and answer portion.  For the first question, asked about the next big issue in the country, she said there needs to be improvement in racial relations

This was a timely and relevant answer with the recent anti-racial controversy slung by Miss USA co-owner, Donald Trump.  He made a negative comment about Mexican Immigrants when he announced his presidential candidacy.  The Donald was noticeably not in attendance during the Miss USA competition.  Broadcasters, sponsors, performers and hosts pulled out after his controversial announcement.

For the second question, when asked about whose face she wants to see on the new $ 10 bill, she jokingly answered Oprah.  Later, she expounded on the merits of Harriet Tubman, a former slave who helped other slaves escape to freedom.

Other winners are Miss Texas (1st runner up), Miss Rhode Island (2nd runner up), Ms Nevada (3rd runner up), Ms Maryland (4th runner up).  Miss USA was crowned by last year's winner, Nia Sanchez of Nevada.
