Drive-Through Mix up at Bojangles: $4,000 Inside the Box Instead of Fried Chicken

James Minor of Virginia wanted fried chicken for lunch. When he went to Bojangles at South Laburnum Avenue, he was handed a cold one. So he asked for another box, instead. He was handed another, which turned out to contain $ 4,000 in cash and some deposit slips, according to NBC News.

But Minor only wanted chicken. So he drove back to the restaurant and asked for the manager. He feared he was being set up, or that an employee was using him to steal money from the company. When he explained the situation to the manager, he got a bigger surprise.

Instead of a thank you, he got a 'we could have called the authorities on you', alleging that it was Minor's fault that the money was in there. The Good Samaritan, totally miffed, still returned the money, although he was regretting it already.

In a press statement released by Bojangles, they apologized for the unfortunate incident, said they will review their internal procedures to ensure it does not happen again, and finally said they were giving Minor a $ 100 gift card to 'show their gratitude'.

Now, it's Bojangles' turn to get a surprise. Minor, still obviously miffed, wants an apology and cash reward.  As he aptly says it, what is a $ 100 gift card when the amount returned is $ 4000?

In another Good Samaritan story, this time, totally appreciated, a man in Croatia lost his wallet 14 years ago.  It contained 720 GBP. As reported earlier this year, the man received his wallet back through mail, and it contained 1,000 GBP. He says perhaps the person who found it had to use the money, and was returning it now with interest. He shared the story to search for his Good Samaritan.

If a Good Samaritan story does not involve chicken and $ 4000, it does have a better ending.
