Korean-American Museum Finally Found Its Home

The Korean American National Museum has finally found its place in Los Angeles, California located at the Wesson District. As per MyNewsLa, it was announced on Tuesday that construction plans are being developed while stating the setup of the gallery, giving the public a glimpse on the interior. This consists of two gallery spaces, an auditorium, and an outdoor garden.

The directors of the Korean American Museum, which was formed in 1991, have been looking for a permanent venue to build the structure. While a few general details about the building's usage have been dished out over the past months, the museum now held a news conference to display renderings and provide details regarding the specific contents of the upcoming museum site.

LaCurbed then stated that the project would be comprised of a three story museum, a seven story mixed used building with 103 market-rate apartments just above the museum.

The American Korean Museum will be designed by Gruen Associates-- a Los Angeles architecture firm which was established in 1946. The company has consistently earned respect from different clients giving each of them super satisfaction every time they'd work on a project.  The museum would be raised near Wilshire Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, an active section of the city where city hall officials are encouraging investors to make it the place more dense and build taller buildings.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is in support of the project, with a goal of further developing the city by 2021 while eyeing on a 100,000 new housing unit expansion. Though everything is already set and approved for construction, the Korean American National Museum is still being finalized as legal issues is still being worked on with the city attorneys, as per DailyNews.
