Jen Welter Becomes The NFL’s First Female Coach [PHOTOS]

Jen Welter has one impressive resume. She's had 14 years of experience in pro football, in addition to a Masters Degree in sports psychology and a PhD in psychology.

Not only that, but Jen Welter also has two gold medals for the Team USA of the International Federation of American Football Women's World Championship under her belt.

The Arizona Cardinals have recently announced that they have hired Jen Welter "to their training camp and preseason staff as an intern coach," as described by E! Online.

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians says, "Coaching in nothing more than teaching. One thing I have learned from players is, 'How are you going to make me better? If you can make me better, I don't care if you're the Green Hornet, man, I'll listen.'"

"I really believe she'll have a great opportunity with this internship through training camp to open some doors for her," Arians added.

In fact, the former collegiate rugby player and veteran of the Women's Football Alliance is so amazing at what she does that Jen Welter will closely be working with the Arizona Cardinals' inside linebackers.

Bruce Arians even shared that after talking to veteran Arizona Cardinals players regarding Welter's hiring, everyone was "very cool" about it.

Unfortunately, many people are still stuck in the past thinking that sports (or football) is not a place for women. Many critics had negative comments which were posted all over social media.

One user who goes by the name of Cody even tweeted, "@jwelter47 @AZCardinals @BruceArians wtf are you guys doing?? Females don't belong on an NFL coach staff of football field for that matter..."

This isn't the first time Jen Welter has made history. She was also the first female in a men's pro football league that had a non-kicking position; she had the running back position for the Texas Revolution football team.
