Hungarian artist Bence Agoston has just invented a new device that can let individuals feel and experience LSD hallucinations without actually taking the drug.
Agoston created these glasses named "Mood" using a 3D printer, which boasts of six different patterned lenses. In fact, the lenses can even be layered or stacked with each other to create various combinations of hallucinations.
Each lens has a unique "Moiré pattern that filters green, red, or blue light." Bustle reports that "by rotating these lenses, different visual effects are created."
Talking to Fastco Design, Agoston explains: "The ideal situation for use is during travel, when people listen to music, just looking out the window and watching the ever-changing sights, in perfect harmony with the music."
"Because each color filters the incoming lights differently, and the patterns can overlap each other or leave blank fields, the new view is completely random and twisted," Bence Agoston added.
The frames are very much like John Lennon's famous round sunglasses, except with an open top to insert each lens. Made of "a highly moldable plastic" called ABS, the frames are also very fashionable.
"The shape is designed with the aim of simplicity and distinctness, as if the wearer belongs to a kind of subculture," said Bence Agoston.
On the other hand, the lenses are transparent and UV-filtered. This makes the lenses flexible, in addition to added eye protection from UV rays.
It gets even better: the glasses can be used even if consumers don't feel like experiencing the same high they get from acid. "Mood can also be used with clear lenses, for everyday living," Agosto noted.
