'Neil Young' Gave 'Meryl Streep' Guitar Lessons in Preparation for Her New Film

In line with Meryl Streep's new movie, she was given guitar lessons by the legend Neil Young himself. The Academy Award winner was taught how to play the guitar for her 2015 movie "Ricki and the Flash". As per Consequence of Sound, Young told Streep to "Turn everything all the way up, that's what you always do. No matter what they give you, just turn it all up" as they playfully practiced playing the guitar. As seen on the video, Streep seems to enjoy her guitar lesson from the Canadian Song Writer.

The movie "Ricki and the Flash" is directed by the director of "The Silence of the Lambs", Jonathan Demme and the script is written by Diablo Cody, the writer of the indie film [Juno] that became a hit. The story revolves around a woman that followed her dreams to become a rock band singer [Ricki portrayed by Meryl Streep]. Following her carrier made her choose between her family and her passion. Though she left her family, she was able to patch things up after several years when her presence was needed by her daughter that went through divorce.   

Mamie Gummer, Streep's daughter, will be her co-star portraying the role of Ricki's daughter Julie, and Ricki's ex-husband will be portrayed by Kevin Kline

As per NME's report, Meryl Streep was the one who sang and played the guitar for the film's original sound track. The OST consist 9 covers and an original track entitled "Cold One' which was co-written by Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice. The sound track also included Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance", U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I Was Looking For", Pink's "Get the Party Started" and Tom Petty's "American Girl".

The film premiered on August 7 and is set to premiere in the UK cinemas on September 4.
