After a long wait, Microsoft will finally release Xbox One to offline retailers which would expand their business ventures; the console is only available on Amazon as of this moment as per Tech First Post report.
Director, Interactive Entertainment Business Anshu Mor made a statement regarding the said reports stating:
"Moving a step forward to extend the world's most-loved gaming portfolio to passionate Indian gaming enthusiasts, we are happy to bring the Xbox One consoles, games and accessories to our Priority Re sellers. Retailing our products on Amazon.in gave us the platform to build scale and reach out to the ever-expanding digital audience, and now with the availability of our gaming products in our stores, we are committed to bringing a world class experience to our customers."
As per NDTV, a buyer for a certain game store did confirm this news by stating:
"Yes, sub distributors already have stock of the console and are doing trial runs at select Microsoft stores,"
A salesman from a later format then explained:
"Microsoft knows if they approach the bigger outlets they'll be rejected outright, there still is a lot of excess Xbox 360 inventory in the channel. We still have Xbox 360s on our show floor even though it's an Amazon exclusive right now,"
They then reported that Microsoft didn't approach fast retail stores such as Landmark, Reliance Digital and Croma is because large amounts of unsold inventory during the Xbox 360 era occurred.
The Xbox One arrived in India just last year in September exclusively via Amazon. It was first launched at a starting price of RS 39,900, but it is now available at a lower price.
Good news for gamers was then announced when it was said that PC games streaming to Xbox One will be made available soon. This was made possible after the launch of Windows 10.
