Anne Hathaway Comedy: ‘Les Miserables’ Oscar Winner Tries Laughter Again, Starring In Sci-Fi Comedy ‘The Shower’!

It's been more than a decade since the second installment of "The Princess Diaries 2," and the years since have seen the Princess of Genovia become one of the highest-paid actresses in the world as well as a master in amazing performances - and it's been too long since the world saw Anne Hathaway in comedy.

Now, it appears like Anne Hathaway's comedy return is just around the corner, as the 32 year-old Oscar winner is apparently starring and producing in a new film called "The Shower," a science fiction comedy that recently made the infamous Blacklist of best screenplays that haven't been made in Hollywood.

According to an exclusive story by The Hollywood Reporter, this Anne Hathaway comedy will see the actress take the role of producer as well, after her success with "Song One" last year, a film she also starred in.

Other people producing the Anne Hathaway comedy will be her husband Adam Shulman, D.J. Gugenheim, Andrew Lauren (son of fashion designer Ralph) and Jac Schaeffer, who also wrote the screenplay.

AV Club reports that this Anne Hathaway comedy sounds "hysterical," as it involves "vicious, male aliens" that attack a baby shower, and the fate of the planet is actually on the hands of those women attending the celebration.

The script hasn't just been helmed as great, but it was actually read aloud a while back to great cheers, and the Blacklist website actually posted an excerpt of it that looks downright awesome.

Currently in very early production (so early there's still no studio nor any other actors attached to the project), this Anne Hathaway comedy has been described as a combination of Simon Pegg's "This is the End," the Melissa McCarthy cult film "Bridesmaids" and "Attack the Block," according to Cinema Blend.

Let's hope we hear from this Anne Hathaway comedy soon!
