Chris Brown Sued Over Nightclub Shooting in San Jose

Singer-songwriter, Chris Brown, who never misses engaging himself in various controversies from his love life to personal and family issues, is again facing another lawsuit from one of his fans, who said that Brown was acting careless during his nightclub show held in San Jose, California.

Reports say that a man named Paul Briley is suing the singer and the Fiesta Nightclub after a shooting incident happened last January 10, where he was left shot and wounded.

The accuser insists that Brown and the nightclub where he was performing "failed to provide adequate security" and "failed to implement security procedures."

The lawsuit documents also states that Briley is charging damages to the defendants for his "physical, mental and emotional pain and suffering" he acquired after being shot.

As the filed lawsuit reached Brown's team, they called it 'frivolous' and they really believe that the case will be soon dismissed.

"It is a poor reflection of our society that violence is so prevalent and it is always a tragedy when someone is physically harmed," Brown's spokesperson said in a statement. "However, this is a completely frivolous lawsuit. We expect that the case will be dismissed and in future, to avoid these reoccurring meritless lawsuits directed at Chris Brown, we plan to seek damages from all parties and their lawyers."

Brown was performing his hit song 'Loyal' in the venue when several gun shots were apparently fired. Though the singer was immediately guarded and remained unharmed, the police authorities said that they were five party-goers who suffered one gunshot each.

Aside from this new lawsuit that Brown is currently facing, he is also fighting an ongoing custody battle with Royalty's mother, Nia Guzman, who insists she just want to get the right amount of financial support from the rapper.

"Nia is not trying to obtain any fame or additional money from Chris Brown, other than the child support that is expected for the raising of their child," the statement reads from Guzman's team. "She asks that the press and general public would stop hurling false accusations at her and her daughter."

Chris Brown will be heading to his next show on September 3, Thursday, which will be held at the American Airlines Arena situated in Miami, Florida, United States.
