Over two months after the birth of Benedict Cumberbatch's baby, the English superstar actor, famous for being very private about his personal life, has finally revealed the name of his baby boy to the press, as he and new wife Sophie Hunter tell the world more about their bundle of joy.
After the couple tied the knot in a private wedding at the Isle of Wright in February, Benedict Cumberbatch's baby, dubbed "Cumberbaby" as it happens with everything related to the "Sherlock" actor, was born last June to the happy newlyweds - and they named their baby boy Christopher Carlton!
According to People, the name of Benedict Cumberbatch's baby was only recently confirmed, about three months after the birth of the child, a first for both Cumberbatch and wife Hunter; and it seems it actually carries some heavy family tradition with it.
Perez Hilton reports that Benedict Cumberbatch's baby boy's middle name is shared by the "Star Trek: Into Darkness" actor as well as his father Timothy and grandfather Henry, so the young one marks at least a fourth generation of "Carlton" boys in the Cumberbatch clan; in fact, Timothy, also an actor (who plays Benedict's father in the last season of "Sherlock") has used "Carlton" as his stage name throughout his career, considering Cumberbatch much too ridiculous and even advising Benedict not to use their born surname either.
In fact, the birth of Benedict Cumberbatch's baby hasn't stopped the highly sought-after new dad from working like crazy, and as Vanity Fair reports, he's currently on the stage as Hamlet in London's Barbican Theater, where he has received rave reviews.
Other upcoming projects for the actor include the Christmas special of his BBC show "Sherlock" and playing the title character in "Doctor Strange," his first dip in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
