Boba Fett Escapes The Great Pit Of Carkoon In Impressive Fan-Made 'Star Wars' Trailer [VIDEO]

Boba Fett may have only appeared shortly in 'Star Wars,' but to his legions of fans, the bounty hunter is one of the most iconic anti-heroes from the franchise. Unfortunately, Boba Fett fell into the Great Pit of Carkoon when Luke Skywalker set out to save Han Solo, Chewbacca and Princess Leia in 'The Return of the Jedi' and didn't live long enough to continue more missions.

Or did he?

Vimeo user Eric Demeusy has made a trailer showing what could have happened in Boba Fett managed to escape the Sarlacc. The fan-made clip is titled "Star Wars: The New Republic Anthology" and hints that one of the new standalone films will be about Boba Fett.

The description for the trailer reads as follows:

"After being trapped for 30 years in the Great Pit of Carkoon, infamous bounty hunter Boba Fett makes a death defying escape and finds himself fighting alongside the Rebellion to establish a New Republic."

"Star Wars: The New Republic Anthology" is only a little over a minute long, but it is so well-made that fans might even presume that it is an actual trailer for the rumored Boba Fett origin story film.

It was previously confirmed that the second 'Star Wars Anthology' movie would be about Boba Fett's origins. The announcement was well-received by fans, and 'Fantastic Four' director Josh Trank was already signed on to work on the project, which was due out by 2018.

However, Josh Trank decided to bow out of the 'Star Wars' standalone film and by July, Starwars.com announced that the second Anthology movie will be about young Han Solo. The spin-off film will be directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, and will focus on what happened to Han Solo before he met Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi at the Mos Eisley cantina.
