One of the most successful crime and drama series on TV standing strong when it comes to its ratings, which is why it is no surprise that fans could expect its return for a new season. We're talking about NCIS on CBS and they are now approaching their 13th season.
According to Christian Today, the season premiere will experience some heavy drama, as Leroy Jethro Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) would have to deal his recovery from an awful surgery that happened last season.
Showrunner Gary Glasberg spilled some information about this coming new season to TV Fanatic saying fans could expect a lot of emotional scenes from Harmon's character this time.
For those who have missed last season's finale, Agent Gibbs was shot and his surgery has become one of the most traumatizing experiences he had to face. TV Line even said that this experience is going to make him almost unrecognizable. As for season 13's premiere, people would witness Gibbs being rushed to the hospital for surgery using an aircraft. It is looking like a lot of action could be expected here.
It would be a difficult transition for Gibbs' character to go from being a normal agent to a traumatized and injured one, especially when he has to go to rehab because of the whole thing. It is not just his physical appearance that would change here but his emotional and mental state as well. So for fans of the show, don't be so surprised if Gibbs' comes out totally different from what he used to be.
TV Fanatic also added that since Agent Gibbs would undergo a lot of physical, emotional and mental change this season, his relationship with Tony DiNozzo (played by Michael Weatherly) would also be affected in a very bad way.
Catch the new season of 'NCIS' on September 22, 8 p.m. EST via CBS.
