Research has found that using your mobile device for as little as two hours before sleeping can cause significant problems.

As per research, a tiny organ on the brain known as the pineal gland is the one responsible for a good night sleep. It releases melatonin a couple of hours before an individual goes to bed. The hormone then reduces alertness that aids in stimulating sleepiness. Light [particularly blue light] however has the potential to prevent the pineal gland from releasing the hormone brushing away the urge to sleep.

Kicking off the habit of using one's phone as an alarm clock may be unnecessary, but it can help an individual doze off and get better rest. It is also beneficial if you would leave your phone plugged in and charging it in a different room which would keep you away from the brain altering blue light. Reducing one's exposure to the light emitted by one's mobile devices can help combat insomnia and can program the might to get better sleep. Getting enough sleep is essential for both mental and physical health as it is the only time for the body restore and rejuvenate.
