Boston Suspect Id’d: Marathon Bombing Suspect Spotted from Surveillance Camera

CBS News is reporting that investigators have "identified a possible suspect in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings."

As investigators have been collecting numerous photos and videos from surveillance cameras around the area of the attacks, authorities are saying they have narrowed it down to one particular suspect.

"There is one individual in particular that they are most interested in and what they believe is it is possible that have collected an image of the bomber around the time the device was placed," said CBS News Senior Correspondent John Miller. "We live in a world where when we're out in public there is no reasonable expectation of privacy...I think somebody who does something like this understands that that comes with the territory."

Boston Mayor Tom Menino told CBS Boston authorities are "very close" to identifying a suspect.

According to The Boston Globe, "authorities have an image of a suspect carrying and possibly dropping a black bag at the second blast site on Boylston Street."

The surveillance video, which might have identified the suspect, belongs to a Lord & Taylor store.

"The camera from Lord & Taylor is the best source of video so far," confirmed Dot Joyce, a spokeswoman for Mayor Menino. "All I know is that they are making progress."

As investigators have promised to go to the "ends of the earth" to find the culprit, others are currently watching surveillance video "frame by frame", according to The Boston Globe, to see if anything stands out.

Washington also commented on the situation through the voice of Jay Carney, who was also answering questions about the poisoned letters sent to President Obama and a senator.

"The way that the people of Boston and the city of Boston responded reminds us - and reminds the world - of just who we are as a people," Carney told the media.
