Plus Size Models Dominate Runway In Lingerie

Fashion week has been trending on numerous social and media sites in the past week, with many new designs from different major fashion brands on top of both search sites and social apps. But it has also been one of the most scrutinized events of all time; the biggest scrutiny it gets is for its exclusiveness, especially when it came to body image. But this year, it's different, there's more diversity on the runway, one making waves on social media is model Ashley Graham's collection for Canadian fashion brand, Addition Elle.

Graham is a plus size model who has modelled for numerous fashion brands, walking down their runway and has been one of Elle Quebec's cover girls. She also posed for other magazines such as, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Glamour and Latina. For the brand Levi's she has done many shoots for them. Being a plus size model, her collection aims to bring more options for women of the same size as her to the shelves.

Her collection, which she dubbed Black Orchid, offers a wide variety of lingerie options. Bra sizes ranged from 36DD up to 44DD while underwear sizes were form X to 3X. "For me sexy if all about fit," she said. Adding in an interview with Popsugar "As long as it's fitting correctly, then I know that it's gonna be the sexiest, because first and foremost it's supportive."

During the runway walk viewers were encouraged to start the hashtag trend, #IAmSizeSexy, which caught on fast. Women on different social sites started uploading their photos, especially on Instagram. But Addition Elle isn't the first bran to have diverse models, the runway this year were full of different models, including a Project Runway finalist debuting an all plus size collection. And last Sunday a model with bionic arm also walked the runway. FTL Moda as well made the headlines when they had a model with Down's Sundrome.
