America's Got Talent: Who's the Winner That Captured America's Heart?

The most asked question right now in the northern hemisphere is who won America's Got Talent? Well, the newest champion has been announced just today, and viewers love this guy, by voting for him and making him win. So who is 'he'? He is none other than British native Paul Verdin, who is a ventriloquist captured America's heart.

The 43 year old Londoner was awed and shocked about beating out nine other acts in the finals, saying that he did not expect it. Two other British acts, Stevie Starr dubbed as the Professional Regurgitator, as well as magician John van der Put, who performs as Piff the Magic Dragon, also made it through to the final 10.

Verdin won a cash prize of one million dollars and also a chance to headline his own shown in Las Vegas, the sin city itself. Runner up was stammering comedian Drew Lynch, while Starr finished fourth. Verdin has been an early favorite ever since the preliminary rounds with judges, having almost all positive comments about his performance. "There's a reason Paul breezed through every single time he came on, because he is a master at what he does," Howard Stern, one of the judges, said.

This isn't his first talent show though; he has joined a famous talent show and won it. This show was ITV's Big, Big, Talent Show, which was hosted by Jonathan Ross back in 1996. He also appeared on a number of BBC children's program in the late 90's. He is also a well known performer in the UK, having appeared at the Royal Variety Performance three times since 1997.

In the past, America's Got Talent was championed by a ventriloquist as well back in 2007. Terry Fator the first ventriloquist winner of AGT went on to have his own Las Vegas residency at The Mirage hotel worth a reported $100m (£64.5m) over five years.
