Hillary Clinton Doesn't Like Pumpkin Spice Lattes

Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Lattes are the 'it' beverage this fall season, but it looks like that doesn't matter to Hillary Clinton.

During a recent question and answer session on Facebook, a supporter by the name of Claire Celsi asked Clinton whether she was 'Pumpkin Spice Latte kinda gal'.

The democratic presidential hopeful responded saying she did in fact used to enjoy partaking of the limited time drink, but stopped after discovering the amount of calories contained in a single serving.

"Ha! The true answer is I used to be until I saw how many calories are in them." Was her reply on Facebook.

According to Starbucks' official website, a 12 oz. tall serving of the drink made with 2% milk packs in 300 calories with a 100 of those coming from fat. Customers looking to shave off a little of those extra calories can opt to skip the whipped cream topping, which bumps the total down to 260. Opting for non-fat milk can bring the calorie count further down to 200.

Some of the more pressing questions during the Q&A focused on various health care topics like the affordable care act and Planned Parenthood.

Regardless of Clinton's stance on the beverage, it's hard to imagine her opinion will do anything to dampen its dominance over the fall season.

The drink has spawned a legion of imitators, with brands like Dunkin Donuts also jumping on the pumpkin flavored bandwagon.

Last year Fortune magazine reported that Pumpkin Spice Lattes helped boost the brand's fourth quarter earnings:

Same-store sales jumped 5% in the Americas region, below the 6.2% increase projected by Consensus Metrix. This is the quarter when Starbucks benefits from the launch of its top-selling seasonal beverage: the Pumpkin Spice Latte, affectionately known as PSL.
