Nina Dobrev, Julianne Hough Show Off Their Friendship At Cosmopolitan's Summer Bash (PHOTOS)

They both went through very public break-ups this year, but that won't stop Nina Dobrev and Julianne Hough from stepping out for a little fun.

Their friendship was on full display [photos] as they stepped out for Cosmopolitan's Summer Bash at Palihouse in West Hollywood on Saturday, according to Huffington Post.

The 24-year-old Dobrev, wowed in a yellow Julien McDonald dress with Elie Saab shoes, while the 25-year-old Hough, donned a Camilla and Marc frock and Brian Atwood heels to support her gal pal and Cosmopolitan Sept cover girl, Dobrev. According to the Daily Mail, the "Footloose" actress accessorized her black cut-out dress with a Pluma Italia cuff, a Rafe clutch, and Sydney Evans jewels.

The actress partied, along with other celebrities like Derek Hough, Mischa Barton, Topher Grace, Candice Accola and Steven R. McQueen, who all came out to support the "Vampire Dairies" star.

According to the Daily Mail, Dobrev opened up about her relationship with the "Safe Haven" star, admitting that their new single-lady status isn't what they bonded over.

"That's not what our friendship is about," the "Vampire Diaries" actress told Cosmopolitan Magazine. "Unfortunately, that's how it's perceived, but there's more to us. People aren't defined by their relationships. The whole point is being true to yourself and not losing yourself in relationships, whether romances or friendships."

According to E! News, in May, Hough comforted Dobrev through her split with her boyfriend and "Vampire Diaries" co-star Ian Somerholder. A month later, the blond beauty broke up with her beau of three years, Ryan Seacrest.

However, Dobrev insists they've bonded over more than their failed romances.

"That's not what our friendship is about. Unfortunately, that's how it's perceived, but there's more to us," she said. "We don't talk about make-up; we talk about life."

Hough, who is an Emmy-nominated choreographer will next star in the Diablo Cody comedy, "Paradise," due out Oct. 18. Hough plays an evangelical Christian named Lamb whose faith is shaken when two thirds of her body is burned in a plane crash. According to International movie database, the flick also stars Holly Hunter, Nick Offerman, Russell Brand, and Octavia Spencer.

Dobrev will reprise her role as Elena Gilbert role when The CW show returns for a fifth season on Oct. 3.
