Michael Jordan Net Worth: Former Chicago Bulls Player Suing Jewel-Osco Supermarket For Using Air Jordan 1 Without Permission [PHOTOS]

It was just a bit over a month ago when Michael Jordan won $8.9 million over his lawsuit with Dominick's supermarket chain. But now, the basketball legend is gearing up to sue another one.

This time around, Michael Jordan is suing supermarket chain Jewel-Osco, claiming that the Chicago-based company used his name in a 2009 advertisement on Sports Illustrated - which apparently didn't have his permission.

The recent lawsuit is actually similar to the one with Dominick's, where Jewel-Osco seemed to pay tribute to Michael Jordan's career with the use of the Air Jordan 1.

Although the ad removed Nike or Jordan branding, the advertisement obviously shows a Photoshopped photo of a "Patent Leather" Air Jordan 1. It even still had the signature "23" logo on the tongue of the sneakers.

According to the Chicago Tribune, both Michael Jordan and Jewel-Osco are ready and even willing to meet in a court trial when December comes.

But in light of the judgment between the Dominick's lawsuit, U.S. District Judge Gary Feinerman is urging for a settlement between the two parties for a quick resolution.

"Jordan has an incentive to declare victory and settle now," said Judge Gary Feinerman. "Things probably aren't going to get any better for him."

What seems like another huge victory for Michael Jordan if this case does end up in trial, Gary Feinerman added, "Jewel saw what happened in the Dominick's case."

According to ABC News, attorneys of both parties are currently talking negotiations for a settlement after appearing before the Chicago federal judge.

Of course, Michael Jordan isn't suing the company for the money - he's actually the highest paid retired athlete in the world. Furthermore, Michael Jordan said that the award money is to be given to charity.

Michael Jordan net worth is $1 billion.
