Mike Huckabee Doritos: GOP Nominee Calls Frito-Lay Out Over LGBT Pride Rainbow Doritos, Weeks After Donald Trump Swore Off Oreos Over Mexico Move

As the race for the Republican party nomination for the 2016 election becomes increasingly heated, a second candidate has picked a fight with a popular food brand to enhance their own agenda, as Mike Huckabee's Doritos opinion of the brand's Rainbow special edition becomes public.

A few weeks after Donald Trump swore off Oreos over them building a new factory in Mexico (which led to a decrease in staff in their Chicago operation), it's time for Mike Huckabee's Doritos stance to come forward, as the former Governor of Arkansas has written a public letter calling to boycott Frito-Lay over their alliance with a certain LGBT organization.

According to The Daily Dot, Mike Huckabee's Doritos accusation goes as follows: the GOP nominee expressed his discomfort and anger over Frito-Lay's association with It Gets Better Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting bullying against LGBT youth.

The partnership between the brand and the NGO saw a massive pro-LGBT campaign a few weeks back, when Frito-Lay launched their special-edition Rainbow Doritos of multi-colored tortilla chips, which were available only to those who made a $10 donation to the project created by gay activist Dan Savage and his husband Terry Millar - both of whom the former Fox News host can't disapprove enough, as shown by Mike Huckabee's Doritos declaration.

"Ask if [Dan Savage] represents the values and views of Frito-Lay. If not, you should apologize, sever ties with hate groups like Savage's, and explain how you were unaware of his history," went Mike Huckabee's Doritos letter, according to Pink News. "If it does represent the corporate values of Frito-Lay, then the Christian community needs to be made aware that Frito-Lay has decided to not seek their business."

Savage, who is no longer associated with the movement, told Time Magazine that he doesn't understand why a "bag of gay chips" would limit anyone's religious freedoms, seeing the whole thing as a perfect analogy of the way some members of the Christian community go after the LGBT community.

In any case, Mike Huckabee's Doritos opposition comes a little too light: Frito Lay's campaign is already over and there are no more rainbow chips left.
