Hugh Jackman Rocked Nirvana and Ramones Classics For New ‘Peter Pan’ Movie

The fantasy adventure film directed by Joe Wright and written by Jason Fuchs, maybe telling again the story of J.M. Barrie's classic tale, but in the flick, 'The Wolverine' actor Hugh Jackman and his band of buccaneers lead an exciting chorus of 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' by the American rock band that was formed by singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain - Nirvana.

The Australian actor and producer Hugh Jackman, who plays as the wicked and cruel pirate in the Pan film, 'Blackbeard,' took some of his time to stop by EW's SiriuxXM studio to give thoughts about the origins of his unorthodox entrance music - a week of pirate boot camp.

Hugh Jackman told EW and  Jess Cagle (People's editorial director), "It was the most enjoyable week I've ever experienced in my life, and we would sing songs every morning," Jackman also said, "'Oh ho ho...' That's what pirates usually sing, right? So we had sea shanties and classic kinds of pirate songs, and I and the crew sang 'em, and Pan's director Joe Wright would be like, 'Ugh, this is really wet. You know, you guys don't seem like great pirates.'"

In that, director Joe Wright  swapped out the sea shanties for something a little more of the rock 'n' roll music by the American punk rock band -The Ramones and Kurt Cobain's Nirvana. Hugh Jackman and his crew got so into the songs, and it ended up in the final cut.

Hugh Jackman, who is best known for his long-running role as Wolverine in the X-Men film series remarked, "That was a moment I will never forget." Hugh Jackman also said "And also seeing hundreds of 11-year-olds singing lyrics that they have absolutely no idea what the song is all about."

In addition, the soundtrack of Pan film also includes two new songs by the English singer and songwriter - Lily Allen, "Something's Not Right" and "Little Soldier."

Pan film is slated to hit theaters on October 9.
