One More Fight for Manny Pacquiao

Manny Pacquaio seems to be following the footsteps of his ultimate rival, Floyd Mayweather Jr. The latter announced that he's retiring from boxing after defeating Haitian-American Andre Berto last September. Pacman, as Pacquiao is affectionately called in the boxing ring, will only have one more fight left then he'll move on to bigger, more responsibilities, His promoter, Bob Arum, stated.

Fans may think this might be because of the serious injury he acquired earlier this year while training for his long-awaited fight with Mayweather. However, Pac Man guaranteed his supporters through Asia Society that he has been recovering very well and revealed on Monday that his shoulder is getting better now at 80 to 90 percent. Just like what everyone can expect from the hardworking boxer, he said he is even keen to train later this year for a match in 2016.

As to who will be his next (and last) opponent, no one knows yet. A few fighters like British Amir Khan and Australian Jeff Horn have already expressed their wish to fight against the Filipino world champion.

On the other hand, Arum made it clear that Pacquiao's medical condition is not the main reason as to why Pacquiao's next match will also be his last. Arum shared with Los Angeles Times Pacquiao's plans to run as a senator in the Philippines this coming election in 2016. "He can't go into a training camp for three months if he's...a senator...senators do most of the work in the Philippines. He knows if he's a senator, he can't fight."

Arum is just being realistic since senatorial position would mean six-year term in the office and therefore concludes that the 2016 fight would serve as the champion's finale match.

Everyone's definitely thrilled to know who the last fortunate boxer to receive Pac Man's blows is but Pacquiao has already spoken of his "last will" on the ring. "I want a rematch," he told the Associated Press, referring to Mayweather.
