Murdered Woman Mistaken for Halloween Decoration

It's October; watch out for Halloween decorations hanging around your neighbourhood. Make sure that they are real dummies, NOT real trodden humans, like what happened in Chilicothe, Ohio last Wednesday.

According to Washington Post, a neighbour and a few contractors around the area saw the dead body suspended high on a fence and thought it was just one of the usual Halloween pranks.

Tammy Dixon, a resident in the area told The Columbus Dispatch that she actually thought somebody was playing a prank to scare the construction workers and even told her daughter that it was just a mannequin. But as the contractors were about to remove the "Halloween decoration", to their surprise and horror, they found out that it was actually a real corpse and immediately called the police to the scene.

As told by Detective Bud Lytle of Chillicothe Police Department, the dead woman was identified as Rebecca Cade, a 31-year-old mother who had been living in the community for a long while. Cade was badly beaten and unrecognizable. The police group announced that she died from blunt force trauma to the head and neck after fighting her attacker. Police Chief Keith Washburn said that the criminal used the bloody rock, as big as a grapefruit, found near the scene as the murder weapon.

On the other hand, the 27-year-old Donnie Cochenour Jr. admitted to the grievous felony he did and is now held at the Ross County Jail with $2 million bail. Investigators said that Cochenour and Cade were reportedly in a huge fight the night before the incident. The motive behind the misdemeanour is not yet clear and needs to be investigated.

Washburn comforts and assures the community that they are doing everything to keep the criminal behind bars while Cade's family and friends wish for their privacy at this time.
