Calum Best who is a British-American model, actor and television personality has been arrested for alleged sexual assault on Monday, October 12, after a 20-year-old woman who was hysterical ran out of a hotel claimed he attacked her.
In the early hours of the morning after a night out in the city, a woman left the penthouse suite of the Innside Hotel in Manchester.
The Sun reported a source saying, "She was hysterical. She ran out of the hotel and didn't have all her clothes on."
The reports further stated that she claims Calum sexually assaulted her and police allegedly found a bra and belt in the hotel when they went to investigate. Best was arrested shortly after police arrived at the scene.
The 34-year-old, playboy son of the late footballer, George Best had been enjoying a night out with friends, among them Ashley Cain, who is an English footballer currently playing for the Midland Football League Premier Division.
Best apparently went back to the hotel after that, as he was staying there in a suite for £179-a-night. The girl emerged from the hotel at some point.
Calum Best has since been released on bail.
On October 13, Tuesday, not long after the incident, Cain tweeted "Misunderstood."
According to MailOnline, a Manchester Police spokesman said : ''A man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. Officers attended and arrested a 34-year-old man. He has been bailed until November pending further enquiries. The investigation is ongoing.''
Best's representatives has been contacted by MailOnline for a comment.
Best's reality TV appearances include Celebrity Love Island, Come Dine With Me and Celebrity Big Brother (CBB).
Celebrity Love Island is a daily British reality television program, that has twelve single celebrities spending five weeks on an Island in Fiji.
Celebrity Big Brother on the other hand, is a television reality game show based on the Dutch show Big Brother, created by producer John de Mol in 1997.
The show follows a number of celebrity contestants, known as housemates, who are isolated from the outside world for an extended period of time in a custom built House.
Best has previously been linked to stars such as Lindsay Lohan and Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding.
