Blink-182 Reveals New Music With Alkaline Trio Vocalist Matt Skiba

Mark Hoppus (bassist) and Travis Barker (drummer) of American rock band Blink-182, are scheming their post with singer and songwriter, famous for his role as the co-lead vocalist and guitarist of punk rock band Alkaline Trio, Matt Skiba.

Baker who is a musician as well as a producer said that, "Matt Skiba is killing it," "Skiba is fun to play with and write with. We're just getting started, but I think we've got like four or five tracks as of the moment that I'm really, really happy with. We have a track called 'Punk Rock Cliché' which I love the most right now. The track is about friends of ours and their relationships."

The California born drummer, who is currently promoting his historical account - Can I Say: Living Large, Cheating Death & Drums, Drums, Drums - did not identify clearly when the new music with Matt Skiba will be released, but did make it certain that they are working towards an album.

"The objective here is to come up with an album and just write. We don't put a restriction on how many tracks we're gonna write. We just collaborate a bunch of tracks, and when we feel like there's an album ready, there's an album ready. You know, no pressure, no deadlines."

The new music of Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker along with Matt Skiba would be the first Blink-182 release that does not include former guitarist and lead vocalist Thomas DeLonge - who departed from Blink-182 earlier this year. The singer, songwriter and author - Thomas DeLonge, was supposed to record a new album with Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker before leaving the group.

However, in January, Mark Hoppus said in a statement after Tom DeLonge refuted reports that he had departed from the rock band, "I just express a strong desire that Tom DeLonge does whatever makes him happy and stops holding the band back from what we all approve that we're going to do: play shows, record music, continue this legacy and have a good time doing it,"

And Matt Skiba came on board immediately after to tour with Blink-182 and play festivals throughout the year.
