Monday, October 19 was definitely a ladies night at the ELLE Women in Hollywood Awards.
American actress Melanie Griffith brought along her leading ladies to the star-studded event, her actress mother Tippi Hedren, 85-year-old, and daughters Dakota Johnson, 26-year-old who starred in Fifty Shades Of Grey and Stella Banderas, 19-year-old.
The three generations of women coordinated their red carpet look in elegant black ensembles as they arrived at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.
The 58-year-old, went for a simple jumsuit which showed off her gym-honed habit and wore her hair pinned up with a
slender fringe framing her face.
Melanie's younger daughter went a little more casual in a black skirt with knitted sweater but glammed up her look with glossy red lipstick.
Tippi, who found fame as Alfred Hitchcock's muse in 1963's, The Birds, looked lovely in a little black dress and sheer tights with chic blazer.
Griffith posed beside Dakota, who showed off her toned curves in a classic satin gown with low neckline as she collected the Calvin Klein Emerging Star Award at the star-studded event.
The 50 Shades of Grey star wore her hair up and let her natural beauty shine through with minimal make-up.
American actress and comedian Leslie Mann introduced Dakota Johnson, who then took the stage to accept her award.
She gave a hearty speech, thanking her mother and grandmother for "making her the woman she is today."
Dakota, who's been rocking brunette tresses since she played the role of Fifty Shades of Grey's thanked her grandma Tippi for being her biggest role model inside Elle's November issue: "When I saw her in Marnie, I just thought it was such a magical thing to be one way in real life and then be a completely different way [on-screen]."
Griffith and Johnson divorced in 1976 just six months after tying the knot. She then married actor Steven Bauer. Griffith re- married the Miami Vice star in 1989 when she got separated from Bauer. They welcomed their little girl, Dakota that year. They split for good in 1996. Griffith more recently got divorced from Antonio Banderas after 18 years of marriage.
Shambala was founded by actress and animal rights activist Tippi Hedren who works with Chris Gallucci who acts as director.
