Pop Tarts 2015: New Flavors Are Either Delicious or Disastrous

Aside from Nutella, one of the most beloved treats across the globe is Kellogg's Pop-Tarts.

Even with a wide array of existing flavors, including its newest additions Frosted Pumpkin Pie and Frosted Cinnamon Roll, Pop-Tarts is about to release some new variations to the family.

According to Foodbeast:

"Food City, a grocery store chain in Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia and Tennessee, recently had their Food City Food Show, and one of the products on display were the newest Pop-Tarts."

Called Maple & Bacon and Pink Lemonade, the two new flavors might just not taste as appetizing as they sound. The Impulsive Buy reports:

"Impulsive Buy reader Cupcake Kelly took this photo at The Food City Food Show in Tennessee. The most interesting of the bunch is the Frosted Maple & Bacon Flavored Pop-Tarts, which, going by its name, probably has no actual bacon. Although, the lack of pork could be solved by sprinkling some bacon bits on top or by wrapping the Pop-Tart in bacon.

"As for the other flavors, a chocolate and caramel Pop-Tart has been done before, and the same can be said about watermelon. Pink Lemonade sounds intriguing, but I'm not sold on the idea of a Pop-Tart that might make me pucker."

Although four "new" flavors were collectively shown at the event, the Watermelon and Chocolatey Caramel were previous flavors that have already been introduced, but have been discontinued.

Not only that, but the photo in question also features a Kellogg's cereal box at the bottom. The cereal box - deemed to be Kelloggs's Smorz cereal - highlights a top header that reads, "You asked for it, It's BACK!!"

It seems as though Kellogg's is trying to make several discontinued products make a comeback.

It is still unknown as to when these new Pop-Tart flavors will hit the shelves, so we'll all just have to wait and see.
