Kylie Jenner Interview: Reality Star Wishes She Could Just Be a Normal Teenager

Kylie Jenner was thrust into the spotlight because of her famous family when she was just nine years old, and for as long as she can remember, life has been anything but normal. But despite all her success and fame, the reality star says she actually dreams about living an average life ‘all the time.’

“I dream about it,” Kylie told Time for its annual "Most Influential Teens" list. “I never wish to have somebody else’s life — I was meant to have this life for a reason, and I’m going to make the best out of it."

The 18-year-old insists that she wants to be a normal teenager, but obviously, the' Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star's lifestyle is far from ordinary!

"But I have normal friends," Kylie continued. "I sit at my house, and they practically live with me, and I watch them get ready to go to a high school party, hang out with their friends, go to concerts. I was sitting at home and my friend said, ‘Come to this concert right now! Wait…I forgot, you’re famous.’ "

Kylie said she wishes she had a “normal teenager life,” and while she wouldn’t trade her own path for someone else’s, she did admit to missing out on being a teen.

"I can’t just get up and go to a concert," she said. "I’ve never been to a concert like that with my friends. So there’s a lot of stuff I’ve missed out on, but there’s a lot of experiences [that I’ve had] that they were never able to experience.”

And while she did admit she lives a different life than her fans, she said she uses her lifestyle app to show how to do it for less. But some things in Kylie’s life are just impossible for a regular teenager.

Like her closet, which is full of designer duds. Not to mention her shoes and designer accessories have their own closet.

Although Kylie has been very fortunate in her lifetime, she also pointed out that there’s a price that comes with fame, and it’s deeply affected her.

“Since I was nine, I’ve been in the spotlight, that comes with so much bullying and attacking,” she explained. “Everything I do, there’s a huge light on it. I’m okay with that because it is what it is, it comes with the lifestyle. [But] it has still affected me a lot. I wanted to take a different approach and pretty much let other people that I found who’ve been through bullying and overcome it, to use my platform and just kind of bring awareness to it.”
