'Politics Have Always Been a Comedy/Tragedy' According To Sandra Bullock

'You can't write stories like this based on pure fiction,' said Bullock who plays the role of Jane Bodine in 'Crisis'. 'This is based on absolute reality,' she added.

The Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock portrays the role of a political strategist named Jane Bodine, who intentionally gives up her work to support boost the campaign of a Bolivian presidential candidate being under pressure in the election polls.

The Hollywood actress takes time to observe the tactics of election campaigns in her role which plays a political spin doctor in satirical comedy "Our Brand Is Crisis".

"Politics have always been a comedy/tragedy," Bullock stated while at the film's first showing in Los Angeles. "I think now the curtain has just been pulled back and everyone gets to see it. It has always been the same. You can't write stories like this based on pure fiction. This is based on absolute reality."

Bodine's assessment stimulates the chance to thrash her competitor, Pat Candy, who is with the opponent - starred by Billy Bob Thornton, her fellow Oscar winner.

"The (film's) message - yes, politics as a backdrop, but it is more about consequences, big business, how far is too far? When you start harming others for power and extreme wealth, eventually you have to get off the carousel," the star said.

"Who is going to grow a conscience and who is going to say enough money is enough money? It is more about big business than it is about politics. But politics made a fun backdrop because it is so real and in your face."

George Clooney, Bullock's "Gravity" co-film star, is one of the producers on the film. The film was directed by David Gordon Green, identified for his "Pineapple Express."

In her 2009 movie "The Blind Side," Bullock took home an Oscar award for her role.
