The Marvel flick 'Doctor Strange' has officially started principal photography, and Benedict Cumberbatch may already be filming scenes in Nepal with Tilda Swinton!
Although pictures of the 'Sherlock' star shooting a scene in the film's Nepal set have previously been released, the video found by GeekTyrant shows Benedict Cumberbatch repeatedly walking back and forth on the street. In the video, there is a mysterious figure also walking around the same area wearing a hooded jacket.
Could it possibly be the Ancient One, who has been given a gender swap and will be portrayed by 'Only Lovers Left Alive' actress Tilda Swinton?
In the comic books, Stephen Strange comes across The Ancient One during his desperate attempt to restore his hands. The Ancient One, who lives in the fictional Himalayan kingdom of Kamar-Taj, decides to mentor the neurosurgeon, who the mystic believes could be the next Sorcerer Supreme.
Could Benedict Cumberbatch and Tilda Swinton be filming the scene where Stephen Strange and The Ancient One finally meet? The video also shows director Scott Derrickson discussing the filming with some of his crew.
Tilda Swinton may not have been a conventional choice to play the Tibetan mystic in the film, but the 'Chronicles of Narnia' star has previously spoken about being excited to be part of 'Doctor Strange,' and to be playing a mysterious and powerful character.
"I'm really interested as both an actor and a fan to see what's done in this particular world," Swinton admitted to ScreenCrush. "It's all about creativity. It's not about everything exploding at the end. It's about something very different. The idea of playing The Ancient One is really just too tickling. I can't say no to that!"
'Doctor Strange' will also star Academy Award winner Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, a former student of the Ancient One. The film is scheduled for release on November 4, 2016.
