'Guy's Grocery Games' and 'Cutthroat Kitchen' Renewed For Another Season

The Food Network is renewing a few fan favorite shows.

The Wrap reported that "Guy's Grocery Games" will be renewed for a second season and "Cutthroat Kitchen" will be renewed for a third season.

Celebrity chef and host of "Guy's Grocery Games," Guy Fieri, premiered the show last October, featuring contestants competing against each other in a grocery store and facing "real-world culinary challenges to create tasty dishes."

"From shopping on a budget to substituting ingredients when the essentials are out-of-stock to cooking a complicated dish with five items or less, the chefs' culinary and improvisation skills are put to the test," the network said of the upcoming series last August. "In the end, the food does the talking, and one-by-one the losing chefs are eliminated by a rotating list of guest judges."

"Grocery Games" will begin production in February. "Cutthroat Kitchen," which Is hosted by chef Alton Brown, will begin production for its new season in March.

"We're thrilled at the viewers' reception for both these two Sunday night favorites and we're working quickly to deliver new episodes for fans," Food Network's General Manager and senior vice president Bob Tuschman said in a statement.

The Wrap reported that "Guy's Grocery Games" averaged a .7 rating and "Cutthroat Kitchen," a .8 rating, both in the Adults 25-54 demographic.

"'Cutthroat Kitchen' and 'Guy's Grocery Games' put a unique and distinctive spin on the culinary competition show, each infused with the unique talents of Alton Brown and Guy Fieri respectively, and they have clearly resonated with our audience," Tuschman continued.
