People are understandably terrified of outer space because of the unpredictability and isolation of being sent to unchartered places. Although astronauts are required to be of strong mental health, how far can they actually go without going a little crazy from being in deep space?
Syfy Films has just released the trailer for a terrifying new film called '400 Days,' which stars 'Good Luck Chuck' comedian Dane Cook as well as 'Arrow' and 'Legends of Tomorrow' alum Brandon Routh.
The official synopsis for the movie reads as follows:
"400 DAYS is a psychological sci-fi film centering on four astronauts who are sent on a simulated mission to a distant planet to test the psychological effects of deep space travel. Locked away for 400 days, the crew's mental state begins to deteriorate when they lose all communication with the outside world. Forced to exit the ship, they discover that this mission may not have been a simulation after all."
The trailer begins with shots of what looks like the interior of a space shuttle, which is revealed to be an underground chamber where the aspiring astronauts will be kept for 400 days. A launch is simulated and the astronauts appear ready for their mission, sometimes joking about their situation. However things change when the isolation becomes real and the hallucinations start to haunt them. As paranoia and fear sets in, the crew realizes that the simulation may have been an actual mission that has sent them in a completely new territory.
'400 Days' was directed by Matt Osterman and also stars Caity Lotz, Ben Feldman, Grant Bowler, Sally Pressman, Fernanda Romero, Frank Ashmore as well as 'The Flash' actor Tom Cavanagh.
The film has been released in Australia in DVD on October 29, but the movie's theatrical release will be on January 12, 2016.
